Following the Annual Wage Review for 2021-2022, the Fair Work Commission has announced the following changes to the national minimum and award minimum wage, which will apply from the first pay period on or after 01 July 2022:
- the National Minimum Wage will increase by 5.2% per week, amounting to a $40 increase per week.
Those who earn:
- more than $869.60 per week, will get a 4.6% pay increase; and
- less than $869.60 per week, will receive a $40 increase.
For the following awards, the wage increase will apply from 01 October 2022:
Aviation
Aircraft Cabin Crew Award 2020
Airline Operations-Ground Staff Award 2020
Air Pilots Award 2020
Airport Employees Award 2020
Airservice Australia Enterprise Award 2016
Hospitality
Hospitality Industry (General) Award 2020
Registered and Licensed Clubs Award 2020
Restaurant Industry Award 2020
Tourism
Marine Tourism and Charter Vessels Award 2020
Alpine Resorts Award 2020
In addition to increases in the minimum wage, SGR contribution will increase to 10.5% (from 10%). The minimum $450/month superannuation threshold will also be removed.
